Located just about 35 minutes north of Kutztown Cars, PPL Center in Allentown
is an awesome concert venue not only frequented by many of the staff members here at Kutztown, but also by our music-loving customers (the same ones who want all the details on the stereo system options for their new SUV, truck, or car!) Three upcoming internationally-renowned performers, in particular, have us all especially grateful to be so close logistically to a cool concert hall and excited to be able to check out bands and artists we’ve loved for decades!
Cleveland-Rock-and-Roll-Hall-of-Fame Inductee, global rock icon, and front man for his 1983-etablished Grammy-winning band, Bon Jovi brings his “This House is Not for Sale” Tour to the PPL Center on Wednesday night at 7:30 PM, May 2nd. For true Bon Jovi fans, you can purchase “Fan Club Tickets” and “VIP Experience Packages” for this show, and for those seeking an excuse to do a road trip in their new vehicle, consider driving to Cleveland in April to celebrate Bon Jovi’s induction in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame!
Is there a more profound and awesome Rod Stewart tune than “Oh La La” with its “I wish that I knew what I know now…when I was younger” lyrics?! Rod’s coming to town this summer with special guest Cyndi Lauper on Friday at 7:30 PM, August 3rd, 2018. Both artists have earned multiple awards and numerous kudos, including a knighthood for Stewart! It’s no surprise that fans of all music and of all ages gravitate toward Stewart’s music since he transcended so many music genres – from rock-n-roll, folk, soul, R&B, and new wave, to Sinatra and other big band hits. Lauper, who was inducted into the prestigious Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2015, also has a burgeoning portfolio of popular hits, a loyal, long-time fan base, and is the perfect special concert guest to collaborate with Stewart.
Elton’s first stop in America this year will be at the PPL Center! He’ll be launching his “Farewell Yellow Brick Road" Tour on September 8, 2018. Although Elton will be touring throughout the world all the way through 2021, this is his last-ever tour. Whether it’s been decades since you’ve seen him or you’ve never been to an Elton concert, you’ll want to be sure to make plans to be at this performance in September! It’s his first in America this year and his last international tour – ever! His new stage production will take you on a cool musical (and visual) tour spanning tunes from his 5-decade career and – if you’ve always been dazzled by his fashion sense -- Gucci is designing his tour wardrobe!
Tickets are currently on sale now for all of these shows (as well as tickets to Ozzy Osbourne and Poison!). If you plan to attend with a group, the arena offers party suites, loge suites, and executive suites. If you’ve never been to the PPL Center, they allow picture taking during their concerts; however, you can’t bring a “professional” camera or cameras that use detachable lenses. Guests may bring in soft-sided bags and purses that do not exceed 16"x 8"x16" in size, and backpacks aren't permitted. The PPL Center accommodates the needs of individuals with disabilities and their companions. In addition, the facility offers plenty of choices for beverages and food, so plan to arrive early and enjoy some grub and drinks at any one of the eateries, including Tim Hortons or Chickie’s & Pete’s ~ the pub that was voted ESPN’s #1 Sports Bar on the East Coast.
